Annual Festival des Libertés 2011 (21 November 2011, Brussels, Belgium):
CEPS organized a panel titled "Big Brother: et ce doigt, tu le vois?" [Big Brother is watching] that took place in the National Theatre of Brussels. The panel included Didier Bigo, King’s College London (UK), Paul de Hert and Raphael Gellert, both Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE).

The SAPIENT consortium organised an expert panel on "On the rise of smart technologies: Surveillance, privacy and ethics" hosted by Serge Gutwirth, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) and moderated by Marc Langheinrich, University of Lugano (CH).
