The SAPIENT project is conducting focus groups to engage stakeholders, including civil society organisations, industry representatives, policy makers, academics and law enforcement representatives in the project work. These focus groups will assist the project in developing a view of how and when smart surveillance should be used to target the critical parts of security and to evaluate whether smart surveillance can be effective and scalable to rapidly adapt to changing situations. The first two focus groups on smart surveillance in public spaces at mega-events and in personalised advertising were conducted in June 2012 in Amsterdam, and the third focus group on border control is expected to take place in Brussels in September 2012. Participants at focus groups were invited to comment on scenarios depicting the full-scale deployment of smart surveillance in each context.

These scenarios will be made available in D2.1 – Scenario Report once they have been revised based on workshop feedback. However, presentations based on the scenarios are available below:
